ABOUT

Tanna M. Krewson, M.A., Ph.D. (ABD) is a sociocultural psychologist and internationally recognized authority on cognitive warfare, specializing in reputational risk monitoring, strategic communications, and the psychology of influence. She helps governments and organizations translate complex geopolitical, social, and behavioral trends into actionable intelligence and risk mitigation strategies, shaping proactive frameworks to deter and counter emerging threats. As the architect of NATO’s Cognitive Warfare Concept and validation exercise, Krewson has developed narrative risk strategies that have informed NATO Allied Command Transformation (ACT) and are adaptable to defense, government, and corporate contexts.

With over 18 years of global experience, Krewson has trained and advised senior military, diplomatic, and policy leaders from 43 countries, including strategic engagements with the Japanese Ministry of Defense, Polish Ministry of National Defence, U.S. Department of Defense, U.K. Ministry of Defence, Canadian Armed Forces, and NATO. She currently serves as a cognitive warfare SME for Deft9 Solutions and Strategic Advisor for the UK’s Centre for Information Resilience (CIR), where she directs several projects focused on narrative tracking, foreign influence monitoring, and counter-disinformation strategy design.

Her expertise spans narrative shaping, audience behavior analysis, and the strategic implications of emerging technologies, with a proven track record of designing influence strategies that enhance reputational resilience. She is a regular lecturer at The StratCom Academy and has spoken at the NATO Defense College, Portuguese Military University Institute, Nova Southeastern University, Tulane University, and Syracuse University. Her thought leadership has been featured at high-level international forums, including the NATO Communicators Conference, Riga StratCom Dialogue, U.S. DoD Global Information Conference, and Swedish Defence University’s Cognitive Dominance Symposium.

Krewson holds a B.A. in cognitive psychology and an M.A. in peace studies, and is completing her Ph.D. in conflict analysis and resolution. Her doctoral research explores how women leverage emerging technologies during the Russo-Ukrainian War, underscoring her ability to analyze complex identity-based influence dynamics.
